Launch of the redesigned James Lind Library

We are pleased to draw your attention to the redesigned James Lind Library (www.jameslindlibrary.org), a website illustrating the development of fair tests of treatments in health care. The James Lind Library originated with support from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh 15 years ago; the redesigned site has been developed with support to the James Lind Initiative from the National Institute for Health Research.

The redesigned website will be formally launched on the 20 May - International Clinical Trials Day - under the aegis of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine at the University of Oxford (see attached flyer). This is very appropriate as the scope of the James Lind Library is being extended to add material relevant to the very recent history of efforts to ensure that health professionals, patients and the public will become more likely to benefit from reliable research assessing the effects of treatments.

You may find it helpful to begin your exploration of the redesigned James Lind Library by visiting the illustrated talk of how to make the most of it: http://www.jameslindlibrary.org/about-the-library/using-the-library/.  current users of the JLL may need to refresh by pressing F5.

If you would like to receive (no more frequently than 4 times a year) updates about material which has been recently added to the James Lind Library, please notify Patricia Atkinson at patkinson@jameslind.net.

Finally, if you enjoy the material in the James Lind Library, you may also enjoy Testing Treatments interactive (www.testingtreatments.org), which is now available in 12 languages.

With best wishes,

Iain Chalmers, on behalf of the JLL Development Team
