XXII Premi Europeu de Divulgació Científica «Estudi General

La Universitat de València i l’Ajuntament d’Alzira han convocat el XXII Premi Europeu de Divulgació Científica «Estudi General» en col·laboració amb Edicions Bromera. El guardó té la finalitat d’estimular la creació i la difusió d’obres que, amb un llenguatge entenedor, posen a l’abast del públic en general els avanços científics i tecnològics i també la divulgació de les diverses branques del coneixement. Els originals es poden remetre en valencià, castellà, anglès o francès i el termini de presentació d’originals acaba el 16 de setembre de 2016. La dotació econòmica del premi és de 12.000 euros. XII Premi Demetrio Ribes

Ya se encuentra abierta la convocatoria del 12º Premio de Investigación Demetrio Ribes . Un premio organizado desde la Cátedra Demetrio Ribes con la intención de fomentar, promocionar y difundir la historia del transporte y de la obra pública en general y, en concreto, de la Comunitat Valenciana. La convocatoria y el terminio de presentaciones de originales permanecerá abierto hasta el próximo 1 de noviembre de 2016 . Paul Bunge Prize 2017 : History of Scientific Instruments

The German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker- GDCh) extends its invitation for international applications for the Paul Bunge Prize 2016. The Prize is awarded by the Hans R. Jenemann Foundation and administered by the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker) and the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry (Deutsche Bunsen-Gesellschaft für Physikalische Chemie). The prize is endowed with 7.500,- Euro and honours outstanding publications in German, English or French in all fields of the history of scientific instruments. It can be given on the basis of a recent major publication or as a lifetime achievement award. In addition to the published work, applications must include a curriculum vitae and a list of publications. The deadline for nominations and self-nominations is September 30, 2016 . Nominations and self-nominations may be submitted. The Advisory Board of the Hans R. Jenemann Foundation will decide on the prize winner.

Science Museums and Archives: Call For CDA Proposals

I'm pleased to announce our latest call for Collaborative Doctoral Award proposals. The AHRC will fund six projects to start in Autumn 2017. Each doctorate will be designed collaboratively by an HEI academic and a member of staff from a museum or archive consortium partner.
