APPEL À CONTRIBUTION LA MEDECINE ET L’HUMANITAIRE Fondation du CICR, 150e anniversaire A l’occasion du 150ème anniversaire de la fondation du CICR et du mouvement de la Croix Rouge Internationale, l’Institut d’histoire de la médecine et de la santé, Université de Genève, en collaboration avec le Centre de recherches historiques - Genève humanitaire, le Département d’histoire contemporain, Université de Genève, et la direction médicale du CICR, organise une série d’activités de recherche et de colloques en 2013 et 2014. Le thème choisi pour ces initiatives est le rôle de la médecine, des médecins et du personnel soignant dans son ensemble dans la création du CICR, du droit international humanitaire et de la diffusion de nouvelles pratiques et d’une nouvelle sensibilité en faveur des victimes de conflits. Une attention particulière sera donnée à l’affirmation du principe de neutralisation du personnel soignant lors de conflits, thème qui est, aujourd’hui encore, d’une grande actualité. V

Harvard History of Medicine Tenure Track Search

The Department of the History of Science at Harvard University is conducting a tenure -track (assistant or associate professorial level) search in the history of medicine, post 1800. A Ph.D. is required by the expected start date, and the Department is especially interested in candidates who show exceptional promise as scholars, teachers and mentors, and who can offer high-impact courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2013. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a brief outline of present scholarly projects and future plans, a brief statement of teaching experience and approach, and names and contact information for 3-5 references. Gelber explores the relationship of the nineteenth-century American Populist movement to state universities.
