Biennial History of Astronomy Workshop

The Tenth Biennial History of Astronomy Workshop is planned for July 6-10, 2011, at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, including a one-day trip to the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. The theme of this year's workshop will be the philosophy of astronomy. Potential topics include but are not limited to the role of philosophical and metaphysical claims in astronomy, issues of taxonomy and discovery, the role of observation and instruments, and the role of professional practice on the science of astronomy. Proposals in any area of the history of astronomy will be considered, but papers and sessions germane to this theme will receive priority. http://www.nd.edu/~histast/ workshops/2011ndx/index.shtml .
