CfP: 40th Annual Nursing and Health Care History Conference
The American Association for the HIstory of Nursing is sponsoring their 40th Annual conference on nursing and health care history to be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, September 28 to 30, 2023. The conference is a forum for researchers sharing new research addressing events, issues, and topics in any area of nursing and healthcare history, broadly construed to encompass the history of nursing, global nursing history, nursing practice, health care institutions, caring, illness, healing work and public health. Submissions pertaining to all areas and regions of the world are welcome. Individual papers, posters, panels and thematic proposals are accepted.
Guidelines for Submissions for a paper (20 min presentation with 10 minutes for questions) or poster include a one page abstract of a completed study describing the following section of the abstract: Overview of the topic, Historiographical literature on the topic, Methods including primary resources and perspectives, and Summary and Implications of the study. Each section of the abstract should include these bolded headers.
Panels consist of 3-5 persons addressing a common topic. Submit an abstract describing the overall topic for each presented. Panels are 60 minutes in length. The abstract should follow the same format as paper submissions.
Thematic proposals submit a one-page abstract giving a short, clear statement of the purpose of the presentation and address topics of broad interest in teaching, research methods, historiography, and advocacy. This presentation is 60 minutes and can include several speakers.
Submission deadline: March 3, 2023. Abstract results will be communicated April 15, 2023. Abstracts should fit on one side of an "8.5 x 11" paper using 1.5 inches left margin and 1 in. right, top and bottom margins. Center the title in in upper case. Submit two copies with contact information (email, name, credentials, phone/fax) on one copy and no identifying information on the other.
