PhD Studentship in the History of Medicine, Un. Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium
The Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB ) offers a four-year grant for a student in the field of Theory and History of Medicine. The aim is to write a PhD dissertation on a topic related to the wider project Standardizing the difference: Classification and norm-setting as instruments in 20th-century medical practice.
The monthly stipend is of ?1700,- (tax free) plus an allowance for special expenses and travel.
Applicants should have a Masters degree in a relevant social science, history or philosophy of science. A special expertise and/or interest in the history of medicine or a related field are preferable. He/she must have a good command of the English and French languages.
