the History of Science
The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science,
located in Berlin, offers one Postdoctoral Fellowship for a scholar in legal
history or history of technology. The position lasts for 10 months, starting
October 15, 2012 (with the possibility of starting earlier), and may be
renewed.
Outstanding junior scholars are invited to apply. This
fellowship is awarded in conjunction with the research project, “The Writing of
Deaf-Muteness and the Construction of Norms,” which “traces the writing and
illustration of deaf-muteness from the early 17th century to the late 19th
century in Europe and the United States.” The fellowship is endowed with a
monthly stipend between €1,900 and €2,300. Deadline: June 6, 2012.
