CFP: Children and technology

Hello,

I would be interested in hearing from anyone wishing to put together a panel or a roundtable on the theme of Children and Technology for the SHCY 2013 Annual Conference— Children and technology

Preferably pertaining to the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and depending on  interest, this could be proposed as a transnational roundtable. Questions that may be raised include among others:
How does childhood negotiate the technological realm?

How does education socialize youth into technological channels?

Technology as a form of youth escapism

The use of the child image to market the machine

My own work intends to survey the use of the child motive in the realm of air transport (marketing and actual design of the space)

Expressions of Interest by 10/10 if possible. The panel proposals are due by 10/31.
