XXVIII SYMPOSIUM OF THE SPANISH SOCIETY OF HISTORY OF PSYCHOLOGY
Dear colleagues,
We invite you to attend the XXVIII SYMPOSIUM OF THE SPANISH SOCIETY OF HISTORY OF PSYCHOLOGY which will take place in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), 7, 8 and 9 of May, 2015, at the Semiramis Hotel.
This Symposium is being organised by a group of researchers that includes psychologists and historians of science and of psychology. It has the support of the THE SPANISH SOCIETY OF HISTORY OF PSYCHOLOGY and of the UNIVERSITY OF LA LAGUNA (specially the sections of Psychology and Medicine,) and other institutions of renown located on the Island of Tenerife.
Magna Congresos is the firm which will be in charge of organisational matters regarding hotel bookings travel arrangements, as well as the conference registration and the administration of conference-related proposals. We expect that an outstanding group of researchers, experts and practicing professionals will attend this SYMPOSIUM.
Those who would like to participate in the Sympsoium are asked to send an abstract, both in English and in Spanish, 550-750 words for oral communications, 150-250 for posters, BEFORE THE SEVENTH OF MARCH, 2015. The completed abstract application forms should be sent by e-mail to the Technical Secretary, , and proponents will receive confirmation of receipt within three working days.
By the 21st of March 2015 authors will be informed about the acceptance, corrections, or rejection of their proposals. It should be noted that, according to the Assembly of the SEHP, each person may present only one paper as oral communication (although it is possible to present up to three posters).
The Symposium will include the following diverse perspectives of the history of psychology selected for this occasion, namely:
- Köhler and his time
- The Gestalt School
- Historical aspects of comparative psychology
– Primatology and psychology
– Discussions concerning Gestalt therapy
- Historical aspects of Gestalt philosophy
- Psychology in Spain
- 76th anniversary of the death of Freud
Papers that do not concern these special subjects will also be accepted if they are related to the History of Psychology or have a clear historical orientation (psychohistory, historical development of the ego, etcetera). ATTENTION: posters will be of should measure 150 cm (high) x 90 cm (width).
We are certain that this meeting in Puerto de la Cruz, where Wolfgang Köhler, the renowned founder of Gestalt Psychology, lived and worked for 7 years, will provide the ideal backdrop for a highly fruitful scientific exchange.
