Workshop: Transplanting Modernity - the Environmental Legacy of International Development

Organizers Jenny Leigh Smith of Georgia Tech and Tom Robertson of Worcester Polytechnic Institute are pleased to announce their upcoming NSF sponsored workshop, "Transplanting Modernity: the Environmental Legacy of International Development" June 22-24 to be held at the Mortara Center of Georgetown University.  Daniel Immerwahr of Northwestern University will give an opening lecture at 5 PM on June 22 entitled "Development and the Environment: A Caricature, a Caution, and a Hope." The final conference program can be found online at www.transplantingmodernity.com
