Dear
Colleague,
This message
has the purpose of divulge the "History of Science International
Conference Connecting Worlds. Production and circulation of knowledge in the
First Global Age (1500-1800)" to be held in Porto from May 18 to 20, 2016.
The Call for
papers is already opened.
Further
information can be found at the conference website:
The meeting
will be co-sponsored by CITCEM–U Porto (Centro Transdisciplinar Cultura, Espaço
e Memória) and CIUHCT–UL (Centro Interuniversitário de História das
Ciências e da Tecnologia da Universidade de Lisboa).
The
conference should be an occasion for interaction between experts on colonial
history, global history and the history of science. We hope for a fruitful
dialogue between recent trends in these fields that tend so far to run in
parallel. Attached, you will find a more detailed description of the
event.
The
conference is expected to reunite experts in the field, but it also aims at PhD
and post-doc students and intends to provide active guidance to the research
they will submit to discussion.
We would be
extremely thankful if you could help us with the event's divulgation to your
colleagues at your institute.
Yours
sincerely,
Gisele C.
Conceição.
Organizing
committee.
