We are seeking to appoint a Chair in History and particularly welcome

applications from candidates with expertise in any of the following

areas: medieval and/or early modern history, especially of the Near

and Middle East; the history of medicine; global history; digital

and/or public history; the history of China. Your research should link

to one of the research themes currently prioritised by the Faculty of

the Humanities and Social Sciences. You will play a central role in

driving forward the Department’s development, building on our current

excellent achievements in research and pedagogy, offering leadership

and vision across both areas. An appetite for contributing to

institutional leadership will be vital and you will be expected to

contribute to teaching relevant to your experience and research

expertise.
