Harmke Kamminga
It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my
friend and former colleague, Harmke Kamminga. She died on January 2 2013, aged
67. She had been being receiving treatment for cancer, but had been managing
well and was still mobile and socialising until her sudden death. Harmke had
been a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of the History and Philosophy
of Science at Cambridge for several years before her retirement. Her
publications and teaching interests ranged from the disputes over the origin of
life, to the history of nutrition, vitamins, biochemistry and the double helix.
The cremation will take place at Cambridge Crematorium on
Tuesday January 22 at 14.30, with a reception at DoubleTrees (formerly the
Garden House Hotel) in Mill Lane, Cambridge. All who knew her are invited
