The ICOH Scientific Committee on History of Prevention of Occupational and Environmental Diseases invites researchers, academics, and professionals in the fields of occupational and environmental health, history, and the social sciences to submit abstracts for the 8th International Conference on the History of Occupational and Environmental Health, to be held in Leuven from April 15 to 17, 2026, under the theme “Recognizing the Rich History of Occupational and Environmental Health: Insights from the Recent and Distant Past.” Submissions are particularly welcome for the following thematic sessions: Lost potential for gaining insights from specific case studies in the history of occupational health Examples of how social sciences in general and history specifically can contribute to progress in occupational health The global history of asbestos, silica, or other inorganic dusts Industrial history museums as learning resources and addressing toxic legacies History of natur...

Les Jornades CIMETEC se celebraran del 7 al 9 de maig de 2026 a l’Institut Interuniversitari López Piñero de la Universitat de València. Aquesta trobada té com a objectiu reforçar l’intercanvi acadèmic, la col·laboració interdisciplinària i la creació de xarxes entre joves investigadores en història de la ciència, la medicina i la tecnologia. CIMETEC vol esdevenir un espai de reflexió col·lectiva sobre els nous presentismes, els reptes metodològics i les transformacions que aquestes disciplines experimenten. La trobada busca donar visibilitat a línies de recerca emergents, fomentar el relleu generacional i afavorir la connexió amb societats científiques i institucions acadèmiques, en un entorn inclusiu, respectuós i lliure de qualsevol forma de discriminació. Concept and Scope:  Critical minerals have become a flashpoint in contemporary geopolitics, shaping international relations in ways that directly impact media and technology industries. Since its emergence as a military-industrial term in the early twentieth century, the meaning of critical minerals has expanded to include materials deemed essential to not only military preparedness or national security, but also green energy, digital infrastructure, and more.
