CfP: 8th International Conference on the History of Occupational and Environmental Health (Leuven, 2026)
The ICOH Scientific Committee on History of Prevention of Occupational and Environmental Diseases invites researchers, academics, and professionals in the fields of occupational and environmental health, history, and the social sciences to submit abstracts for the 8th International Conference on the History of Occupational and Environmental Health, to be held in Leuven from April 15 to 17, 2026, under the theme “Recognizing the Rich History of Occupational and Environmental Health: Insights from the Recent and Distant Past.”
Submissions are particularly welcome for the following thematic sessions:

Lost potential for gaining insights from specific case studies in the history of occupational health

Examples of how social sciences in general and history specifically can contribute to progress in occupational health

The global history of asbestos, silica, or other inorganic dusts

Industrial history museums as learning resources and addressing toxic legacies

History of natural resources exploitation, agriculture, or seafaring in occupational safety and health

The role of organized labor, trade unions, and worker participation in occupational safety and health
