Edition Open Sources: Two post-doctoral fellowships

Two post-doctoral fellowships (24 months) in the history of science and technology

are offered to publish in the series of Edition Open Sources (EOS). Edition Open Sources pioneers a new paradigm for academic publishing of primary sources in the history of science. It combines open access (Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-SA) and rigorous peer review to ensure that each publication marks a significant contribution to scholarship.  Primary sources are reproduced in facsimile and XML-structured transcriptions, accompanied by scholarly essays. Edition Open Sources is a joint venture of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, Germany and the University of Oklahoma.
Each fellow will be expected to publish a work in Edition Open Sources (EOS) by the end of the second year of the fellowship. Each fellow will acquire skills relevant to the digital humanities using the EOS workflow and is responsible for editing of his or her own work to the end stage of publication.
