LECTURER GRADE 8 IN THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE
£38,511 - £42,067 pa
We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Lecturer in the Department of
Public Health and Policy, in affiliation with the Department of
History. You will be expected to deliver undergraduate teaching in the
Faculties of Health and Life Sciences and Humanities and Social
Sciences and postgraduate teaching on the Master of Public Health
course. You should have a PhD in History or a relevant discipline and
duties include: delivering lectures, seminars and individual student
project tutoring; assessment of coursework and examinations;
development and maintenance of teaching and examination materials and
attendance at staff meetings. You will also support the Development of
History of Medicine within local healthcare and community
organisations. The post is available until 31 May 2016.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE GRADE 7 (2 POSTS)
£32,277 - £37,394 pa
You will conduct research on the development of the British health
policy since 1948. This will involve archive research; conducting oral
history interviews; preparing public and policy engagement activities;
contributing to project publications; assisting with the development
and delivery of witness seminars, workshops and conferences. You
should have a PhD in history or a relevant subject, experience of
conducting twentieth century historical research (preferably with
relevance to health services, public policy, health economics or
management consultancy) and a proven ability to write up research
results for dissemination in a range of formats for different
audiences. The posts are available for 3 years.
