The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of
Westminster is a dynamic centre of research in the heart of London. We
have a tradition of critical research into leading topics in the Social
Sciences and Humanities with internationally renowned research centres
in the study of democracy, science and the imagination, contemporary
China, the legal profession and modern contemporary culture. The
University has a rich tradition of scientific innovation and promoting
public engagement with science. We are continuously developing and
building on our international-leading research and have a commitment to
diversity and inclusion.
We seek to appoint a leading, internationally-recognised researcher
in the field of the modern history of science and innovation. The
successful applicant will pull together strands of research and practice
from across the Faculty and the University and build a research
strength in the modern historical evolution of scientific and
technological development.
The post holder will be located in the Department of History,
Sociology and Criminology (HSC) in the Faculty of Social Sciences and
Humanities.
Westminster History has established research and teaching strengths
in twentieth-century British and European history which extends across
to a network of historians in the University. The post holder will
assume a leadership role in developing the research profile of
Westminster History, building links between HSC and other departments in
the Faculty as well as with other Faculties. The post holder will
consolidate a network of vibrant research which demonstrates the links
and connections between the history of scientific endeavour,

We are seeking a high-calibre candidate, working at the intersection
of historical, scientific and technological studies, with a record of
internationally-acclaimed scholarship and who is able to forge new and
exciting partnerships both within and outside the university.
