AHRC funded research studentships to support majorGalleries, Museums, Libraries, Archives and Heritage Organisation

55 AHRC funded research studentships to support major Galleries, Museums,
Libraries, Archives and Heritage Organisations to start in October 2014

Deadline - December 13th 2013

The museums, galleries, archives and learned societies that are holders of
Arts and Humanities Research Council funded Collaborative Doctoral
Partnerships (CDPs) are pleased to announce their individual competitions
for the next round of research studentships to start from October 2014.
All the CDP-holding organisations welcome approaches from colleagues in UK
Universities and HEIs to discuss possible collaborations for these
Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA) students and to explore possibilities
for future years.

The 12 organisations or consortia awarded Collaborative Doctoral
Partnerships together will be looking to allocate a total of 55 AHRC funded
CDA studentships to start in the 2014/2015 academic year to research
subjects that will support their organisations’ work and objectives.

Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships were launched by the AHRC in 2012.
Under this scheme major cultural organisations, or consortia of such
organisations, have been allocated a number of full three-year
Collaborative Doctoral Award research studentships. The cultural
organisation is then responsible for deciding which proposed topics and
collaborations with HEIs it wishes to support through their own
competitions, subject to the agreement of the AHRC.

While different organisations may allocate their studentships in different
ways, all will share a similar timetable for the next round of studentships
with a deadline for applications of December 13th 2013. You are strongly
encouraged to look at the specific details of each relevant institution.
Final decisions will be made in January 2014.

For further information and enquiries about potential collaborations for
one or more CDA awards under this AHRC-funded partnership scheme please
contact the individuals at the different organisations listed below (see
attachment).

All the CDP holders will be supporting Open House meetings in London on
28th October at the Science Museum’s Dana Centre and at Edinburgh Castle
on 30th October. These will provide opportunities for prospective
university partners and students to learn more about the scheme and how it
works. Further details of these events will shortly be posted here.

The following organisations (see attachment) are looking for applications
for CDA projects with university partners under this scheme. For specific
information about what different organisations are looking for to make
strong proposals, and how they will run their individual competitions under
this scheme, please follow the relevant link or contact the named
representative.

The AHRC is still running the open competition for Collaborative Doctoral
Awards, which cover collaborations with organisations other than the
CDP-holders listed above.
