ABIERTO PLAZO para inscripción en los Primeros Cursos de Estadística y Demografía de la ADEH, 7 a 11 de julio en Guimarães, Portugal.

Siguiendo otras iniciativas que se están llevando a cabo en diferentes países europeos en la profundización en los conocimientos en métodos cuantitativos estadísticos dentro de las Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, la ADEH organiza sus primeros cursos intensivos de estadística y demografía que tendrán lugar del 7 al 11 de Julio en Guimarães, Portugal. La matrícula de estos cursos intensivos es gratuita para socios de la ADEH. El plazo de inscripción permanecerá abierto hasta el viernes 27 de junio. Los cursos se desarrollarán durante 5 días, de lunes a viernes, en horarios de mañana y tarde y estarán abiertos también a no socios de la ADEH, pero la matrícula tiene un coste acorde al número de horas y especialización del curso. Harvard tenure-track history of technology search

The Department of the History of Science at Harvard University  is conducting  a tenure -track search (assistant professorial level) in the history of technology.  A Ph.D. is required by the expected start date, and the Department is especially interested in candidates who show exceptional promise as scholars, teachers and mentors, and whose work complements that of the current faculty. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2015. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a brief outline of present scholarly projects and future plans, a teaching statement, and names and contact information for 3 references. 10 Research fellowships for international PhD-students (IEGMainz)

The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) awards 10 Research fellowships for international PhD-students for a research stay in Mainz from January 2015 or later. Profile The IEG awards research fellowships for international junior scientist in history, theology and other historical subjects. The IEG promotes research on the historical foundations of Europe from the early modern period to contemporary history, particularly their religious, political and social dimensions. Projects dealing with European communication and transfer processes as well as projects focusing on questions related to theology, church history and intellectual history are particularly   welcome. What we offer Funding is currently EUR 1200/month. Research fellows live and work for at least 6 months and up to 12 months at the Institute in Mainz and can pursue their individual PhD-project. They are also invited to collaborate with the academic staff of the IEG, according to their particular fields and interests

Philosophy of science can involve many disparate methodologies and aims at achieving a variety of goals. As part of an ongoing project to bring together and boost our burgeoning and diverse community, this first workshop will centre on discussion of philosophical approaches within the field.
