Messenger RNA: From Discovery to Synthesis and Regulation in Bacteria and Eukaryotes.

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) invites you to participate in an exciting and unique meeting being organized by the CSHL/Genentech Center for the History of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, entitled, Messenger RNA:  From Discovery to Synthesis and Regulation in Bacteria and Eukaryotes. To be held August 9 - 11, 2014 at CSHL, this meeting will combine a historical perspective with updates on some of the exciting developments and research directions of the current day.

We have invited pioneers in the field of mRNA from around the world. The meeting will be a tribute to Nobel laureate Sydney Brenner, who is one of the speakers. Other speakers include scientists, such as Arthur Pardee and Jim Darnell, who will cover their major contributions to the field related to messenger RNA (mRNA). Please see the complete list of speakers at: http://meetings.cshl.org/meetings/2014/biohist14_mRNA.shtml

The attendees of the meeting will include scientists, students, scholars, writers, journalists and others. We expect attendance to be in the range of 150-200. This meeting is sure to be an excellent opportunity to learn from and share with the top people in this dynamic field.

Financial assistance to attend the meeting is available upon request. The generous support of our sponsors enables us to cover the costs of attendance for talented junior investigators, post-docs, historians and students. Our sponsors make a very real difference in the success of this meeting and our ability to bring together scientists from diverse generations.
