Meeting on the History of DNA Sequencing
A meeting on the history of DNA sequencing will be held July 16-19, 2015, at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL; http://www.cshl.edu/), on Long Island, in New York. Financial assistance is available to students and scholars interested in attending this meeting. See:

This meeting is part of the CSHL Archives and Genentech Center's Meeting Series on the History of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, which was initiated in 2013. These meetings explore important themes of discovery in the biological sciences, bringing together scientists who made many of the seminal discoveries with others whose interests may include the current status of the field, the historical progress of the field, and/or the application of these techniques and approaches in biotechnology and medicine.
These meetings are organized by the CSHL Meetings & Courses department together with the CSHL Library & Archives (http://library.cshl.edu/archives/), where we have assembled perhaps the most significant collection of original artifacts documenting the molecular biology revolution.
The first three meetings, all of which were very well received, were:
- History of Restriction Enzymes, October 19 - 21, 2013, http://library.cshl.edu/Meetings/restriction-enzymes/
- Messenger RNA: From Discovery to Synthesis and Regulation in Bacteria and Eukaryotes, August 9 - 11, 2014, http://library.cshl.edu/Meetings/mRNA/
- Plasmids: History & Biology, September 21 - 23, 2014
