BURNBY MEMORIAL BURSARY 2019

Applications are now open for students to apply for the Burnby Memorial Bursaryawarded in memory of Dr. Juanita Burnby, pharmacist and former president of the British Society for the History of Pharmacy (BSHP).

The BSHP offer a Bursary of £500 annually to a student at, or associated with, a School of Pharmacy or other higher educational establishment.
The winner of the Bursary will undertake to give a 20 minute presentation at the Annual Spring Conference of the British Society for the History of Pharmacy.  This must be based on a piece of original work on a topic on the History of British Pharmacy.  The Conference will be held on 29 - 31 March 2019 in Portsmouth.

An intending applicant for the Bursary should complete an application form (available online or from the BSHP Honorary Secretary) which asks for details of the applicant, together with a brief description of the topic on which the presentation is to be made.
An application form must be returned by 30 November 2018 to the Honorary Secretary.
The successful applicant will be informed by 31 December 2018.

RESEARCH GRANT 2019
Applications are now open for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and students of pharmaceutical sciences to apply for the British Society for the History of Pharmacy (BSHPResearch Grant 2019.
This new award from the BSHP will offer an annual grant of £500 to support a project in the history of pharmacy. The award is aimed at pharmacists, pharmacy technicians or students of pharmaceutical sciences. The grant can be awarded as one single £500 award or split into two £250 grants for research over two years. The award also includes membership to the BSHP for the duration of the project.

The completed work will be presented as a short presentation, or poster, at a BSHP conference and/or the BSHP session at a BPSA Conference within 2 years of the award being made.

Applicants should complete an application form (attached and available online)). Completed forms must be returned by 30 November 2018 to the Honorary Secretary. 

The successful applicant will be informed by 31 December 2018.
