Travel grants for the Library and Museum of history of medicine and science, Valencia 2021-2022
Travel Fellowships for research at the Library and Museum of History of Science and Medicine at the López Piñero Interuniversity Institute for Science Studies (IILP).
These fellowships are
addressed to scholars in history of science, medicine and technology and
related fields, aiming to conduct research at the library and museum
collections of the López Piñero Interuniversity Institute (www.uv.es/ihmc). Visiting
scholars are also expected to present their research in the seminar series or
other activities of the Institute and to participate in informal academic
meetings with Institute members.
The fellowships cover (up to a
maximum of € 1500) lodging at the Rector Peset College (or a similar a similar
accommodation) for a stay between one week (min.) and one month (max.) during
the academic year 2021- 2022. The final amount will depend on the length of the
stay, available financial resources and the number of accepted applications.
The visiting fellows will also obtain library cards for accessing all
bibliographic resources and loan services as well as other facilities for their
research at the university archives and the museum of history of medicine and
science.
Candidates have to submit the following documents:
1.- Full CV.
2.- Research project (around
500-600 words), highlighting the connection to the collections of the Vicent
Peset Llorca library, the museum of history of medicine and science, or other
research activities developed at the López Piñero Interuniversity Institute.
3.- Proposed dates for the
stay.
These documents must be sent
in digital format (PDF) by email with the subject "Ajudes Vicent
Peset" before October 30, 2021.

Ajudes “Vicent
Peset Llorca” per a estades d’investigació a la biblioteca històrico-mèdica i
al museu d’història de la medicina i de la ciència de l’Institut
Interuniversitari López Piñero.
Aquestes beques
apareixen anualment i estan adreçades a les persones interessades per
desenvolupar investigació dins de l’àmbit de la història de la ciència, la
medicina i la tecnologia. Poden demanar-les persones doctores (o als darrers
moments del doctorat) dins de l’àrea amb projectes de recerca relacionades amb
els documents de la biblioteca o les col·leccions del museu d’història de la
medicina i de la ciència, així com per a investigacions relacionades amb temes
de treball de l’Institut Interuniversitari López Piñero. Les persones hauran de
presentar la seva recerca en el cicle de seminaris del centre o altres
activitats de docència i divulgació, així com mantenir reunions de treball amb
els membres de l’ institut.
L’ajuda consisteix
en una partida màxima de 1500 € destinats a les despeses de l’estada al
Col·legi Major Rector Peset (o altre similar) durant un període màxim d’un mes
i mínim d’una setmana durant el curs 2021-2022. La quantitat dependrà de la
duració, la disponibilitat econòmica i de la llista de candidats
presentats. També es facilitarà un carnet de biblioteca, accés a les
col·leccions museístiques i un correu provisional per accedir a tots els
recursos bibliogràfics i serveis de préstec per tal de facilitar la recerca.
Les persones
candidates hauran de presentar:
1.- CV complet.
2.- Projecte de
recerca (al voltant 500-600 paraules), tot indicant la seua relació amb la
biblioteca Vicent Peset Llorca, les col·leccions del museu d’història de la
medicina i de la ciència o altres activitats desenvolupades a l’Institut
Interuniversitari López Piñero.
3.- Dates
aproximades del viatge.
