Desde fechas aún muy próximas intenta desarrollar un proyecto (el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior) que, dejando a un lado las opiniones contrarias de diversos sectores en él implicados, exige un esfuerzo considerable en todas las dimensiones, y no en último término, en la económica. Precisamente este aspecto incide de manera dramáticamente negativa en el proyecto, dada la situación de crisis global que afecta de modo muy agudo a nuestro país. Desde su planteamiento en los años 90 del pasado siglo el llamado “Plan Bolonia” motivó abundantes críticas, muchas de ellas procedentes del campo de las humanidades.
