We are offering an interesting and challenging opportunity for a motivated post doc, with a background in social sciences or health studies, seeking to expand their experience of qualitative research.



Supervised by Dr Simon Cohn (Senior Lecturer in Medical Anthropology) and Dr Simon Griffin (Assistant Director of the MRC Epidemiology Unit) and working alongside Dr Jonathan Graffy (Clinical Research Fellow in the GPPCRU), you will be conducting a self-directed qualitative research project in relation to the prevention and screening of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) that will complement other activities of the NIHR funded Programme. You will demonstrate excellent qualitative research experience, good organisational, interviewing and communication skills, knowledge of research in the health sector, and be computer literate. You will be ready to initiate your own research, be prepared to travel if necessary, and establish links with academic and non-academic networks. Good writing skills are essential as you will contribute to writing reports and academic articles for publication.
