Durham: Early Bird Booking Rate Reminder: SSHM 2010 Conference, Durham, 8-11 July 2010

***You are encouraged to register for the SSHM Annual Conference 2010 by Monday 31st May 2010 to secure the Early Bird Booking Rate and avoid the late registration fee***

The conference takes place at Durham and Newcastle (UK), 8-11 July 2010 and is organised by the Northern Centre for the History of Medicine (NCHM) and sponsored by the Wellcome Trust, London and the Society for the Social History of Medicine (SSHM).

The conference package includes:

- Accommodation in Durham University on a bed and breakfast basis for 4 nights from Wednesday 7th July 2010.  Rooms are available with either en-suite or shared facilities.  Please note that there are a limited number of en-suite rooms available.  These will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.

- Conference facilities throughout the conference.

- Catering throughout each day (including lunch, dinner and refreshments), starting with an informal buffet dinner on the night of arrival on Wednesday  7th July.

- Two formal drinks receptions and two conference dinners, including entertainment at one of the conference dinners.

- Excursion to Newcastle on the afternoon of Friday 9th July 2010.  Excursion will include some free time to explore the city; optional activities include visit to the Centre for Life, the Baltic, the quayside, an archaeology seminar etc.  This will be followed by a keynote address at Newcastle University, a drinks reception and dinner at the Centre for Life, as well as bus transfers from Durham and back to Durham in the evening.

We would encourage you to book as soon as possible as all bookings received by 31st May 2010 receive the "Early Bird Booking Rate".  All bookings made after this date, will incur a Late Booking Fee of £30 per delegate.

Members of the Society for the Social History of Medicine and the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health can book the conference for a reduced rate.
