Volunteer opportunities at St Bartholomew's Hospital Museum
Are you interested in volunteering in St Bartholomew’s
Hospital Museum?
Set in the historic North Wing of St Bartholomew’s
Hospital in the City of London, the museum tells the story of this renowned
institution, which dates back to the 12th century, celebrates its achievements
and explains its place in history.
We are looking for volunteers to join our small team who
staff the museum during opening hours. The role involves welcoming visitors,
helping them to get the most out of their visit to the museum and selling
postcards and publications, and the opportunity to contribute to archives and
museum projects, dependent on skills and time commitment. We would need a
commitment to a regular weekly or fortnightly three hour shift.
If you are friendly, reliable and keen to develop your
skills, get experience of working in a museum and archives environment, and
help Barts and preserve the hospital’s history then this could be the opportunity
for you. For more information please
contact Kate Jarman, Deputy Trust Archivist on 020 346 55798 or via email barts.archives@bartshealth.nhs.uk.
Please note – as we are part of the Barts Health NHS Trust, occupational health
clearance and disclosure checks are required for new volunteers, as well as
references on request.
