Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships (History, University of Liverpool)




 The University of Liverpool’s School of Histories, Languages and Cultures invites expressions of interest for the 2016 Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship scheme. The Department of History at Liverpool comprises historians who cover a wide geographical range, including Britain and Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia (including India and China), Australia, and the Atlantic and Mediterranean worlds.  Chronologically we have expertise on all periods from the medieval through the early modern to the later modern and contemporary eras.  The department has also provided a unique and specialised environment for archival education for over 60 years.

The department is an active participant in the School’s inter-disciplinary research centres, including the Centre for the Study of International Slavery, the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies and the Eighteenth-Century Worlds research centre.
Since 2010, we have been part of the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures, one of four Schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School also includes the departments of Modern Languages & Cultures, Irish Studies, Politics, and Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology.

Those interested in applying for a Fellowship at the University of Liverpool are invited to submit expressions of interest to Dr Marios Costambeys (costa@liverpool.ac.uk), Departmental Research Lead by 5pm on Friday 15th January 2016, consisting of the following:

·      CV
·      an outline (2 pages max.) of the research proposal, including
intended publication outputs
·      100-word abstract
·      Identification of potential mentor
