Duration: Fixed-term employment contract (third-party funded until Sept 30,

2017), 18 months

Pay group: TV-L HU E 13


Working hours: 75% of regular weekly working hours


Job description:
The scope of activities in this post includes research and

exhibition curating (archaeology, history of knowledge, museology) for the
project „Travelling Thrones. Replica Knowledge” (Thronfolger. Replikenwissen)
about the history of knowledge of replicas from minoan-mycenaean civilization
objects. The tasks include international research; establishment and coordination
of international cooperation with museums and university collections that hold
replicas; co-curating the exhibition and symposium “Travelling Thrones”; coediting
of the exhibition catalogue; cooperation with the base project “Mobile
Objects” at the Cluster of Excellence Image Knowledge Gestaltung and the
Winckelmann-Institute for Classical Archaeology; addtl. research tasks

Requirements:

Successfully completed academic degree in one of the following disciplines:
Classical Archaeology, History of Science, Science Studies; successfully
completed PhD about minoan-mycenaean civilization and/or about replicas in
classical archaeology; experience in working with scientific collections and
international experience; excellent English language skills; professional
experience in the development of scientific exhibitions (archaeology); welldeveloped
interest in interdisciplinary research; high motivation; strong team
and communication skills
